CanAssist: Inclusive Child Care Webinar Series
The University of Victoria’s CanAssist program invites early years professionals to join the second session in its quarterly Inclusive Child Care Webinar series on September 22nd, 2026.
The mission of UVic’s CanAssist program is to address unmet needs of people, particularly those with disabilities, by advancing inclusion and accessibility provincially, nationally and internationally.
The upcoming interactive webinar, grounded in CanAssist’s Behaviour in the Early Years course, is designed to help educators look beyond behaviours to better understand the underlying needs children may be communicating. Through real-world scenarios, participants will explore the 4 Functions of Behaviours, apply the Stress Detective and Sensory Profile tools, and practice language shifts that promote belonging and positive outcomes for children.
The webinar is directed to ECE professionals, whether you are new to the field or an experienced educator, offering “practical tools and fresh perspectives to support every child with confidence and compassion”.
The webinar is available on the Hub for BC Early Years Professionals, and will take place on Tuesday, September 22 from 6 pm–7:30 pm.

a free, self-paced online training course. (Completion of the course provides 10 professional development hours.)
