COVID Vaccine Perception Survey

The Bridge Youth & Family Services are looking for people in BC to participate in a study looking at COVID-19 vaccine perceptions during pregnancy, breastfeeding and parenthood.

The study, funded by Genome BC, the MSFHR, and the BCCDC Foundation, is being undertaken in partnership with Interior Health and is being led by principal investigator Dr. Marie Tarrant, School of Nursing, UBC Okanagan.

The study premise is that limited data on COVID-19 vaccine developments for pregnant and breastfeeding persons as well as for children may increase vaccine hesitancy in Canada. To counter misinformation and promote vaccine uptake, this project examines hesitancies and concerns among people who are (or planning to be) pregnant or breastfeeding and parents with young children in BC. Quantitative and qualitative data will be collected to examine COVID-19 vaccine knowledge, concerns and vaccine hesitancy to assist in developing knowledge mobilization materials. The operating belief is that a deeper understanding of these communities’ hesitancies will assist in the creation of tailored resources for these priority populations to promote vaccine acceptance.
