Healthy Families BC: Register Your Pregnancy for Prenatal Care
The BC Health Authorities are encouraging pregnant people to register online as early in their pregnancy as possible to access the full range of possible supports during and after pregnancy.
Registering connects a pregnant person with public health nurses and community resources to ensure the best possible information, care and support for pregnant people, their babies and families.
Public Health Nurses can offer a range of supports, including:
· Answering questing and providing information about nutrition, lifestyle, wellbeing, relationships, feeding, parenting and more
· Supporting pregnant people in making positive choices in pregnancy
· Informing and connecting pregnant people to community resources and services
· Providing pregnant people with either a digital copy or a hardcopy of the Baby's Best Chance Handbook
· Providing teaching on how to care for the baby
· Guide pregnant people in planning wellness checks for themselves and their baby.
